A gorgeoussix lightchandelier in classic French empire style painted in a rich deep forest green and with striking swans head arms.

It has deep bronze ceiling rose with large impressed dimples in the centre, an intricate embossed centre section and a lightly tiered rim. Below this is a largebarrel shapedcapital from which the three long chains extend, in dark green it has a delightful band of engraved brass encircling it and a superb bronze torchere finial in the centre of the base. The shapely diamond chain links alternate with tiny circular ones and join to the chandelier arms with large round links.

Thecentre body of thissuperb chandelier is in matt green tolewear. The domed top has a largeornamentalpineapple finialin themiddle andthe wide brass band around themiddle is delicately embossedwith a typical empire style pattern in the centre.

Thesix superb arms extend from the centre band each held in place with a ribbed capital.Curving outin a striking shape,at the lower end are wonderfully detailed swans heads and along the top richly embossed feathers furl out.The elegant candle cups each end have more of the deep green seen elsewhere on the underside and the fine turned bronze rimsare intricately with laurel leaves with the faux candle sleeves placed in the centre.

To complete the chandelier, the basealsoin dark green tole, has adelightful patterned applique in the middle with a largebronze torchere finial in the centre.

With perfect proportions and in overall good vintage condition, as you can see from the picturesthere are some imperfectionsto the paint work, mainly on the centre top, however this does nothing to mar its striking looks once hung.The brass and bronze, whilst developing a lovely patina,also have some marks commensurate with age, you could polish it to a high shine if you wish, but I leave this as a matter for the owner to decide.

Astunning light withtimeless neo classic elegance and strong empire features this striking chandelier would be an enviable centrepiece in any setting.

The chandelier is wired and fully functional and takes6small screw inbulbs (not included), however as with all vintage lighting it should be checked by a qualified electrician before use.
