Stanhope in Shape of Telescope Horatio Seymour Gov NY State Civil War & 1868 US:

This bone Stanhope is of Horatio Seymour who was the 18th Governor of New York from 1853 to 1854 and from 1863 to 1864. He was the unsuccessful candidate who ran against Ulysses S Grant in the Presidential race in 1868. I am not sure if this is a political campaign item for the Presidential race or if it is from his Governorship. He seems to be a bit older in this image than the ones I see so I believe it may be from the 1868 race.

There is a ton of information on the internet on Gov Seymour, Wikipedia has a great outline of his political career.

The Telescope housing for this bone Stanhope is in good condition with one chip to the objective end that has no effect on the image or the integrity of the item.

The image is much clearer than I was able to get a photo of. It is crisp and only has a tiny bit of evidence of ageing. Under the image of the Governor is his name in the film. Even with my \"aged\" eyes this is an easily seen image.

The telescope body measures approx 3/4 inches (17mm) The original ring is still attached.

I stand behind my description fully and offer a no question refund if I am incorrect in the description.

\"Terms of Service\"

I will always present the items that I am offering in the most accurate manner that is possible. I do my best to ensure that I do not overlook any details whether they are good or bad.

International Buyers: Please Note:

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges or costs are entirely the buyer\'s responsibility.

Please check with your country\'s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to offerding or buying.

I inspect carefully all the items that I sell and any problems of condition and/or damages I point either describe or show a photograph of. It is important for you as the buyer to read the description and study the photographs.

If I manage to make a mistake or an oversight that justifies a return I will accept the responsibility for seeing that the buyer is refunded fully for the cost of the item and the shipping to and from the buyer.

I take high resolution images or scans of all items that are offered and maintain both the \"internet images\" and the full sized files of the item.

As a rule I generally have several times the number of views and details of each item and can make them available at any time during the sale but please allow a reasonable amount of time prior to the end of the sale for me to resize and respond to any request for a photo.

I will leave the photographs on line for 2 days after the sale ends. I ask that you save them on your computer before I delete them. I need the web space for new sales. I consider the photographs to be transferred to the purchaser for their use.

International buyers are fully responsible for their customs duties, etc.

I try to ship as soon as possible after receiving clear payment. I also try to have more than one item to ship before going to the Post Office. I cannot always go to the Post Office the next day but will always do my best to do so within 2-3 days after payment..

Shipping Charges and methods of payment DOMESTIC USA

I generally ship using USPS Priority mail with Delivery Confirmation and insurance for the full value for final value of over $50.

All shipping is from zip code 32507.

The cost of shipping is paid by the buyer and is added to the final offer price of the item. I do not have any extra fees added to this unless there is some additional costs above and beyond standard bubble wrap and peanuts in a box packing.

If an item sells for over $250 I will use Signature Confirmation and not Delivery Confirmation. This is an rule and I adhere to it.

If an item sells for over $900 I prefer to use USPS Registered Mail. It will still require insurance for the full value.

I accept all approved methods of payment as outlined by policy. Whatever method of payment is used I will only ship after I am assured of having \"CLEAR FUNDS\"

FINALLY

Thank you.
