Offered here is an all-original, Type 8 SmoothPlane, acquired as part of a stunning 40 year tool collection.

·The type features includethe B mark, cutter has the Apr 19,1892 date, Flat LH brass adjuster knob.

· The rosewood handle has stunning rosewoodfigure! The handle and knob are solid, shiny and smooth with no cracks, chipsor repairs. The surfaces may have been touched up in the late 80’s, withshellac or similar finish.

· All metal parts are smooth and work freely.There are some surface blemishes but they are minor as compared to most planesfrom the same era. They too appear to have been cleaned long ago.

· All hardware, brass knob, screws, and threading,are in very good condition.

· All black japanning is in excellent condition, appearsoriginal, with some aging, such as at the edges.

The plane wasdisassembled and lightly cleaned so you can see the condition of all parts inthe photos and know what your investment is getting. It was last purchased fromBud Brown in 1990. The bottom could be shined up a bit but it still has the1990 purchase note so its untouched.
