DESCRIPTIONThis lamp features 8 long edison bulbs and one of the most unique on off switches I\'ve ever seen. The lamp has a mercury tilt switch that, through a relay, turns the 8 bulbs on when you tilt it. The tilt switch has only 12 volts going through it, so it\'s very safe. The 12 volts powers the relay that turns on AC power to the bulbs. The lamp was made from a Vintage Alpine Sun Lamp that used to have a giant mercury vapor bulb. That was removed and a custom 8 bulb fixture was put in it\'s place. It can be raised or lowered with ease. The lamp is actually three pieces, base, middlepart, and top. There is bright red vintage cord. The frame has scratches and nicks all over. The cord end plastic part that plugs into the wall is the original and probably needs replaced. Also, The paint on the base isn\'t the best, but as a whole, the piece is amazingly cool, or an extremely ugly duckling--You be the judge.
