This rare and sought after pin cushion in the shape of a child\'s boot is in good original antique condition.It was made by the firm of Levi & Salaman and assayed in Birmingham in 1909.
The cushion has its original cover, and the boot comes complete with the original lace and tassles. The lace must at some point have broken as it is joined together by a knot.The velvet has, over the years, rubbed off, and what is left is the underlying material..The hallmarks are clear.The boot is weighted to enable it to stand on its sole.There is one pinhead sized dent on the cap of the boot, a very shallow dent about 1 x 5 ml at the back of the ankle (hardly noticeable), and a few very minor scattered pinpricks.All the discolouration on the silver is due to reflected light. The only exception is that there is blackening of the silver round the eyelets.

On the opposite ankle to the hallmarks is a registration mark : Rd 477079, which signifies that the design was registered between 1900 and 1909.
