Main Description
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George V English sterling silver candlesticks; an addition of our ornamental silverware collection.
These exceptional antique George V English sterling silver candlesticks have a plain waisted square form.
The plain waisted capitals retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconces, ornamented with an applied moulded border to each rim.
The upper portion of each tapering column is embellished with a waisted segment accented with a circular rounded knop, all above a square knop.
The lower portion of each column bears a plain square boss, in junction with the plain square swept base.
The bases are embellished with applied lion mask motifs in addition to a band of embossed bead decoration above the plain collet style rim.
Each candlestick does not have a weighted base.
Condition
These antique English silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver for their type, exceptional quality for their stype and in exceptional condition.
These silver candlesticks have been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base are clear in keeping with age and location.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.
