Sterling Silver Demitasse Set Tea Coffee Pot - Bailey Banks & Biddle Co.:
$450.00
This is a Bailey Banks & offerdle demitasse coffee, mini-creamer, and open top sugar bowl set likely produced in the 1920\'s or 1930\'s. This set is monogrammed, \"G\".
I\'m having a hard time finding information about this set other than it\'s model number 338.
It is similar to other urn-form demitasse sets produced by Shofield model 2200 and Kirk Stieff Old Maryland Plain patterns. But I\'m not finding picturesor sales records. So I think it\'s fair tosay this set somewhat uncommon.
The total weight of the set is 902 grams, un-weighted.Removing roughly an ounce for the pot\'s wooden handle that leaves 871 grams of sterling silver.
Coffeepot weighs 504 grams, is 11 1/4 inches high, and has a capacity of about 32 fluid ounces.
Mini-Creamer weighs 158 grams and is 6 inches high.
Open Sugar Bowl weighs 240 grams and is 6 inches high.
These are near very good vintage condition with light normal scratches, a couple of medium scratches (creamer base), a couple small dents (creamer), and one small dent(sugar bowl).
The pot\'s silveris in great shape, handle\'s wood is in good shape butcould userefinishing.
This set has seen little use.(Please excuse a little dust on pictures 6, 7, and 12).
The base underside logo reads, \"BAILEY, BANKS & offerDLE, 925/1000, PHILLADELPHIA\".
Also reads, \"STERLING\", 338. the pot reads, \"STERLING, 338L\".
