Lovely sterling silver parcel gilt novelty box in the form of an egg, fully hallmarked for London 1978.
This is a beautiful silver box in the form of an egg made by St James\'s House to celebrate Easter 1978.
The gilded egg has beautiful silver cagework decoration with bands of chased buds and a bud to the top.
The egg comes with it\'s silver stand and in it\'s original fitted leather box.
The egg is 1-1/2 inches / 38 mm in diametre and it stands 2-1/4 inches / 58 mm high - without the stand. On it\'s stand the egg is 3 inches / 76 mm high.
It weighs 78 grams.
The egg has clear hallmarks - lion passant, London mark, letter D for 1978 and maker\'s mark SJHC for St James\'s House Company.
The box is in excellent condition with no dents, damage or repair.
