This is an usual ring in many ways. It is a vintage ring that has the look of an antique ring with the elaborate carvings in the sterling silver and the \"claw\" prongssecure the Amethyst stone. This ring cannot be called an antique as it has not been dated. The look of the ring is an opinion based on looking at theway it is made. There is something that is so special about this ring that cannot be denied. There is a carving of a woman in the Amethyst stone that isfully visible to the eye and, in fact, can be seen in the pictures posted with this listing. We don\'t and can\'t know who this woman is or who did the carvingbut it is certainly a conversation piece. The beauty of the large rectangle shaped Amethyst stone is approximately 3/4\" long x 1/2\" wide. What a great vintage piece to own!!
