This week the titles for our two daguerreotype offerings exhibit a limited vocabulary, as ‘stern’ applies to both of them. This man could be a statesman, a lawyer or simply a no-nonsense businessman.
SIZE. Sixth plate.
HOUSING. Half case.
CONDITION. We have resealed this with museusm glass, which is anti-reflective. Light tarnish at periphery. Very good condition.
APPEARANCE. High up on the plate. Bright image. Sharp. Very good contrast. Light facial tint.
