Here for your consideration is a fabulous, rare Victorian, late 19th century, 12 carat gold, moss agate, intaglio fob seal, with beautiful ornate scroll decoration, designed very much in the style of a goldennugget.

Atruly stunning piece of workmanship. We\'ve tested this fob and can guarantee 12 carat gold. Considering this solid gold fob is antique Victorian, it\'s in fantasticcondition, with no damage, or splits. It does have some beautiful age related patination, commensuratewith age, but nothing unusual.

12 Carat Gold ...

Most 19th century jewellery is 15ct which is quite yellow due to the higher carat and gold content. 15ct, 12ct and 9ct were introduced in 1854 and 12ct and 15ct were discontinued in 1932 when 14ct was introduced. Between the years 1784 and 1890, the sovereigns head was struck to show that duty had been paid. Although many valuable items escaped paying duty, sodidn\'t carry a hallmark.
