A stunning 1880’s rich burgundy satin two piece bustle dress that has recently been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The name of the museum and the cataloging tag is stitched inside the bodice. The bodice is designed in the polonaise style. It has a draped front apron panel and long back bustled train. The back waist area is trimmed with a large satin bow. The side area is trimmed with a beaded buckle. The hemline is decorated draped fringe of multi colored beading. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a beaded front button closure. The under skirt has a pleated and ruched hemline. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There are no discoloration just shadows created by the camera flash. There is mild underarm discoloration that is hard to see because of the color of the fabric.
