Stunning 1885 English Center Seconds Chronograph Lever Fusee Silver cased pocket Watch made by G. Aronson of Manchester. It’s an Exceptional Pocket watch in Outstanding Condition. The Beautiful Solid English sterling silver case is Silver hall marked (B) 1885 of Chester Assay. Perfect condition off White colored porcelain dial with Sharp looking Bold Roman numerals and Seconds index. Amazing Mint Condition original Solid Gold hands with a Perfect Blued Center Seconds hand. The dial is Flawless with the wording and serial number. Beautiful Spotless crystal I replaced and is New old stock. All case covers open, close and fit Absolutely perfect together nice and tight. The hinges are still nice and Stiff and appear to be Solid Gold. The Pocket Watch is Key wind and key set from the back and runs full length of chain with nice balance motion. It’s a 15 Jewel English Lever with a temperature compensated Bi- Metallic Balance. The balance bridge is indexed with a push arrow for regulating. The movement has nice Gold Gilding with 15 beautiful Bright blue screws. The watch Serial number is 21354 and is matching on dial and case covers. Pocket watch measures 58mm excluding the bow. Pocket watch runs Real Nice and keeps great fusee time, last checked it was running +/-1 or 2 minutes but slows a bit before a 24 hour period hanging from a hook in the vertical position........ But cannot guarantee accuracy upon sale. These watches are fusee type. Meant to keep time, not perfect time approx.133 years ago. Also special care must be taken not to overwind these old museum pieces and always remember to wind counter clockwise. The watch also has a functioning Stop/Start slide switch (Hack) at 2:00 on the side of the case. Watch comes with perfect fitting key for winding and setting. The rear cover has a nice clean open shield. The inside dust cover is Beautifully Engraved with “John James Kinlock. Lawrence Mass. U.S.A.” After some research I found this information about the Engraved name. “He was an overseer at Shawsheen Mill in Lawrence, he loved to smoke cigars and play the piano, card games and a Good glass of Whiskey”. I think him and I would have gotten along well. Note all of my pocket watches have been personally serviced and restored to there best working order according to there age and condition.
