Stunning Art Nouveau15ct Gold Garnet & Diamond Pendant Necklace c1895A rare & quite stunning Victorian Art Nouveau 15ct Gold Garnet & Diamond set Pendant, which dates to c1895. As shown the Pendant is of the very finest quality with a large millegrain set natural Garnet surrounded by Diamonds. Itis relatively rare to find Art Nouveau Pendants set with fine quality precious gemstones such as Diamonds; as most were set with semi-precious gems & Pearls(please study the detailed close-up photographs, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful Victorian Pendant, which weighs 4.4 grams, has been beautifully crafted in 15ct Gold faced with Silver (before Platinum was available Silver was the precious metal of choice to set fine Diamonds in). It is setcentrally with a large cushion-cut Garnet (approx\' 12.5mm by 9.0mm) millegrain set into a Yellow Gold collet within an openwork scrolling cartouche surround millegrain set with Swiss-cut & grain set with Rose-cut Diamonds in foliate mounts to create an Art Nouveau Jewel that is just sublime.
This fine quality Garnet & Diamond Pendant is complete with it\'s Diamond set bale and only reqquires the addition of a chain to enable it to be worn. The Pendanthas the following dimensions: Length is approx\' 4.7cms (including bale) by a width of approx\' 2.2cms.
Typical of the period the Pendant unmarked, but it has been tested and is guaranteed to be made from 15ct Gold & Silver as described. Overall it is in superb condition, as can be seen from the photographs, with only light surface marks commensurate with age.
