Wonderful large Japanese potteryjardinière decorated with Japanese figures and thick swirling enamels andtrailed slip in a moriage technique. It has a cream coloured crazed glaze inthe Satsuma manner and would date from the late 19th or very early20th century. 20 cm tall and 24 cm wide at the widest point. Thereis a small hand painted mark in red to the base. There are some tiny nibbles aroundthe rim as pictured. Apart from this it is in excellentcondition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Highly functional, collectable anddecorative. A wonderful decorator piece.
