A rare & beautiful Victorian 15ct Gold & Seed Pearl set Pendant dating to c1900; which was made by the highly respected Anglo German Company of Murrle Bennett & Co (1896-1914) and was probably retailed by Liberty & Co of London(please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This wonderful Pendant, which weighs 4.0 grams, has been crafted in finest 15ct Gold in a design that typifies the Murrle Bennett designs sold by Liberty of London. The body of the Pendant has a scalloped pentafoil shape, centrally set with a round Opal Cabochon in a millegrain setting surrounded by Seed Pearls with further garland decoration similarly set with fine Seed Pearls. The Pendant is suspended from a Pearl set bale and terminates with an articulated Pearl set Long Drop suspending an oval collet - millegrain set with an Opal Cabochon, which complements the central stone perfectly. As shown, the Opals display a fabulous play of colours with good green & pink fire being the predominantcolours against a white background.
The Pendant is stamped \'15c\' on the reverse confirmingthatit is made from solid 15ct Gold and it is stamped with the co-joined maker\'s mark \'MB & Co\' for Murrle Bennett & Co, as shown, which was an Anglo/German company that produced jewellery for the iconic Liberty & Co of London among others and is now regarded as one of the most important makers of the period.
This fabulous Pendant has the following dimensions:

The Pendant weighs - 4.0 grams
Overall this stunning little Pendant, is in great condition with only wear commensurate with age as shown; there may be a tiny historic repair to the reverse and on close examination with a loupe the central Opal has a shallow chip to the top surface of the Opal near the top of the stone - this not visible to the naked eye and won\'t be noticed when worn but mentioning for descriptivecompleteness.
