Anextremelyfine vintage Victorian Style 9ct Gold Cabochon Garnet set Dropper Brooch of exceptional quality(please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form anintegral part of the item\'s description).
This stunning 9ct Gold Brooch, whichweighsa substantial 19.1 grams, measures approx\' 6.4cms long by approx\' 4.2cms wide and has a pierced openwork form embellished with scroll decoration and chain swags. It is set centrally with a collet set oval Cabochon Garnet (approx\' 15mm by 10mm) in a closed back setting (faithful to the design of an early Victorian Brooch) above a matching detachable drop set with a similar Garnet.
This superb Brooch is stamped with a maker\'s mark \'EF\' and a full London hallmark on the reverse of the Brooch confirming that it is made from Solid 9ct Gold and that it was assayed in London in 1968. The detachable drop is also stamped with a partial hallmark, as shown.
The overall condition of this piece is quite superb with only light wear commensurate with age. The Brooch is complete with it\'s original pin, hinge and \'C\' clasp and it is ready to wear.
