This is an absolutely lovely large vintage purple silk crepe piano shawl dating from the 1950\'s
This shawl was inspired by the antique Canton Export silk piano shawl,a true fashion and decoration item in the late 19th & early 20th centuries.The piano shawl has always evoked bohemian abandonand the mysteries of the gypsy lifestyle.
This vintage shawl could be wonderful worn to a cocktail party or at the beach!The shawl is in very good condition. It has one small tear about 1/2 an inch longnear the edge. Easily mended. The very long fringe is rich in colour!It could be draped on a sofa or table,used as a decoration element in your home, it is, oh so bohemian chic!
The silk square measures 37 inches by 37 inches,the knotted silk fringe measures 24 inches long.
