AGME compacts, made in Switzerland, have always been known for their fine designs and very high quality. This is the most ornate AGME design I\'ve come across and it\'s an absolute stunner!

It\'s quite large and weighty, measuring just under 3\" square and weighing a full quarter of a pound. The lid has an outer edge of bright gold and moves in to a background of black silk covered with 88 glittering round faceted rhinestones. There are NO missing or dull stones. Further in is a square made up of gold bands decorated with etched wavy lines. Finally, there is a bold silver square in the middle of the compact with a beautiful sunburst design. There are lines radiating out from a central circle and the silver color absolutely glows. NO dents, dings, scratches or finish wear at all.

The strong hinge runs the full width of the compact and the clasp opens easily and snaps tightly closed. The back is finished in brilliant gold with a decoration of narrow vertical bands. No dents or dings and no finish wear.

Inside is a fine quality mirror with deeply beveled glass. Except for a couple of tiny dark spots in two corners, the mirror is very clear and bright. Below, the powder lid is matte gold and marked AGME~MADE IN SWITZERLAND. No scratches or any other flaws. The clasp opens smoothly and closes securely. The powder well has a lovely decoration in glowing gold of overlapping circles. The fine quality sifter has delicate silk mesh and is edged with soft genuine ivory suede. The pale pink puff is silk and is edged in satin. There is a pink satin ribbon lifter as well.

AGME compacts have always been known for their elegance, sophistication and the superb quality of their materials and this one is no exception. Probably made in the 1940s, it\'s beautiful as new both inside and out and has one of the most exquisite AGME lids I\'ve ever seen. A fantastic collectors\' piece!
