Rare vintage photogravure of East Java, entitled “View of the Batok and Sand-Sea from Moengal Pass,\" printed in Java circa 1910. Superb, evocative image by photographer George Lewis, richly printed in sepia brown, with impressed plate marks. Image measures 8 5/8\" by 6 5/8\", centered on a thick paper plate measuring 12.75\" by 10.75\". This would look beautiful framed. In excellent condition save for light soling to one tip, small chip to top right top, all of which would frame out.
