Superb ornate carved Antique gilt Picture Frame ~ ~ with excellent Art Deco/Nouveau deeply carved border design ~Measuring 40cm by 31cm ~ with a rebate size (image) of 33cm by 24.5cm ~ or, in inches, 13\" by 9 & 5/8\" ~~ Sight size is 320mm by 230mm ~This is a fabulous carved antique gilt picture frame ~ dating at a guess to the 1930s ~ a wonderful rectangular shape with a fabulous aged gilt colour ~ the carving is excellent with a series of plain bevelled sections along the border but with shapely foliate detail to the corners ~ the gilding is showing lots of signs of age & this is exactly what I love in an old mount, it hasn\'t been regilded, it is the original finish ~ the corners verso have been strengthened at some time in the past, you see this a lot in antique frames ~ See below ~ Superb Antique Carved Pine Gilt Art Deco Picture Frame vNouveau Patina 33X25CM*R Superb Antique Carved Pine Gilt Art Deco Picture Frame vNouveau Patina 33X25CM*R

Measuring 40cm by 31cm ~ with a rebate size (for your image) of 33cm by 24.5cm ~ or, in inches, 13\" by 9 & 5/8\" ~
~ Sight size is 320mm by 230mm ... This is a fabulous carved wood antique gilt picture frame ~ dating at a guess to the 1930s ~ a wonderful rectangular shape with a fabulous aged gilt colour ~ the carving is excellent with a series of plain bevelled sections along the border but with shapely foliate detail to the corners ~ the gilding is showing lots of signs of age & this is exactly what I love in an old mount, it hasn\'t been regilded, it is the original finish ~ the corners verso have been strengthened at some time in the past, you see this a lot in antique frames ~ it is an excellent solid construction, built from a pine carcass ~ This frame will really suit a quality painting, perhaps a Modern British piece or an Impressionistic landscape ~ certainly a frame that will grace any wall ~ Thank you for looking ~ any questions please ask ~ Condition: Very good condition as can be seen in the photos ~ because of the age the gilding has darkened a tad but this has created a lovely contrast to the border & is what is attractive about this frame, it\'s all original condition, no touch-ups or regilding ~ a couple of minor rubbings to a couple of corners & edges ~ All corners solid ~ Age commensurate wear ~ No major damages ~ Please take in ALL of the photos ~ Thanks ~*All of our antique frames will have some form of age commensurate wear ~ this is NOT a reproduction frame & so there will be some slight imperfections ~ after all, this is the essence of owning an antique ~ Please refer to the detailed photographs, they are an accurate reflection of the very good antique condition … **Each frame has been carefully stripped down of backing boards & tidied professionally ~ the back of the frame (verso) is removed of dust, nails, splinters etc ~ any other abrasions are meticulously peeled away so that the frame can be pretty much hung immediately ~ After having been stripped down thoroughly, the border, where necessary, is then treated with a high-quality clear wax and buffed vigorously ~ this gives the wood a bright fresh lustre and sheen, making it, in essence, a completely restored frame ~ This fully refurbished frame is ready to go ~ this frame is all set to be hung ~ Please check out our other antique frames ~ For your information …So, the idea is to have around 100 to 150 frames on at any one time in order to offer plenty of choice. Not just of antique frames but frames of quality, quirky usable frames of all shapes & sizes & character. Around 95% of frames that we see or are brought to us are rejected on grounds of quality & condition ~ we only pick frames that are of the best quality & are in very good condition ~ unless of course, it is a charming old gesso frame that has fantastic qualities despite having areas of missing gesso ~ frames such as this can still be used in a variety of stylish ways. Our frames come not just from the UK but from all over Europe as we visit most major fairs in French & Belgium. Many of our frames, especially Edwardian Oak ones are cleaned & therefore reconditioned & brought up to a very high calibre. The majority of our frames come without glass as the main shipping companies will not cover for glass ~ We do however keep a stock of antique glass so, if you can come & collect your frame in person at our Lytham address we can probably provide glass. One of the reasons also that we don’t send out the glass is that new glass can be sourced easily & cheaply from a local glass/window dealer or glazier ~ it can cost just pennies.
