For sale is a superb cup and saucer made by the Ambrosius Lamm studio of Dresden Germany in the early 20th century. Actually it was really a decorating studio that painted blanks made by other makers which is also the case here. He founded the studio around 1887 and it closed somewhere around the beginning of the second world war. They made very high quality items and this cup and saucer set is a great example of that. The set is hand painted with an amazing scene in luster colors of ducks flying over a lake with some grasses to the side. Nice gold trim with raised dots to the rim and a great marbled luster ground to the outside of the cup. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and 4.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.875 inches tall and just over 6 inches in diameter. Both are in perfect condition. Both are marked underneath with the lamb / sheep mark with the words Dresden, Made in Saxony and the number 857 probably a decor number. There is also a gold flower mark hiding another mark of the manufacturer of the blank pieces underneath as shown. The scenes are both signed by the artist which looks to be Ander but it\'s a bit hard to read. An amazing, elegant and decorative cup and saucer!
