Superb beautiful looking rarely seen early 1800s Georgian Nailsea glass flask:
$320.00

We are listing this very beautiful rarely seen early 1800s Georgian hand blown Nailsea glass flask, with the most exceptionally perfect white swags I have ever seen on one of these pieces, done in the close looped style referred to as combed latticinio. Like almost all old glass this flask is unmarked (with a rough pontil on its base), but it was almost certainly made by England\'s renowned Nailsea Glassworks in the early 1800s. Nailsea was established in 1788 and it was renowned for its exotic hand made pieces, frequently featuring swirling swags of color like this piece (so much so, that any glass pieces in this style are usually called Nailsea glass). While I could not find an example just like this flask in Keith Vincent\'s NAILSEA GLASS, he does have a picture of the same shaped flask with looser loops (from the Painter Collection) on page 76, and a picture of a combed lattacinio gimmel (double) flask on page 75 (also from the Painter Collection). The listed flask was formerly in the Robert Heath glass collection. The late Robert \"Bob\" Heath from Union Maine was a major New England glass collector for decades, as well as being heavily involved in New England glass collecting organizations during that period. This flask epitomizes the quality of his collection and it is simply beautiful piece done in a very rarely seen style. It is over 7 inches tall, 4 inches at its widest point, stunning in appearance, and it is in very good condition. Please view the closeup pictures and judge for yourself. A beautiful very rarely seen antique glass flask, and a spectacular looking display/decorator piece.
