HALLMARKS: London 1632 by TE

MEASUREMENTS: 18.5cm (7.25\")long; 62 grams

This is a fine quality CharlesI period silver apostle spoon in excellent condition. The spoon has a good heftyweight in the hand as a thick gauge of silver has been used in its manufacture.

The apostle to the terminal isholding a fuller\'s bat,thus identifying him as St. James The Less. He iswearing a nimbus on his head which bears a worn sacred dove emblem.

The spoon is stamped with agood leopard\'s head bowl mark and three excellent stem marks including theunidentified \"TE with mullet below\" makers mark (see JacksonsPickford Edition, page 114 6th entry)

This 17th century spoon is a genuine apostle spoon and isinexcellent condition with original rim to the bowl. There is some pitting to asmallsection of the bowl and later \"IW\" engraving to thereverse of the bowl, but overall this is a very fine spoon.
