Superb Deep Cobalt Blue Ground Chinese Art Deco Rug With Pheasants 11 X 7. C1920:

For sale is a spectacular circa 1920s Chinese art deco rug in a deep cobalt blue ground with elegant pheasant style birds and floral foliage and other Asian motifs. It is surrounded by a light tan brown border.

The border is also decorated in each center point with an intricate pictorial element.

This rug came out of the private estate home in Greenwich Connecticut.

Condition: The rug is in over all good condition for age. There is of course some areas of pile wear which is all age appropriate for a rug of this age. We have taken close up detailed pictures of the areas for your consideration. There are some areas of white specking which is quite normal with age for these Chinese art deco rugs.

The rug has not been cleaned to our knowledge. It certainly could use a professional cleaning. It is a masterpiece of a Chinese Art Deco rug.

We have taken pictures both indoors and outdoors. The pictures outdoor are somewhat lighter than the actual colorations in this rug. Please keep this in mind.
