A fine and interesting Doulton Lambeth Art Pottery vase by Rosina Brown. The vase stands on a rounded foot supporting a gently broadening body that tapers to a narrow neck and opening. The vase is stylishly decorated with a swirling beaded design that we have not seen before and this is set against a blue ground with some interesting colour variations towards the base of the vase.
To the base is a Doulton Lambeth impressed mark along with the incised mark for Rosina Brown and we believe that this is probably one of the pieces personally designed by her towards the end of her career - to our eye this vase has a little Frank Butler influence with whom the artist worked during her early days at the factory. A substantial and striking piece.

Condition

The vase comes in good antique condition without cracks, or restoration - mentioned for complete accuracy are some minor frits to some of the applied beads apparent only on close inspection - please see photos. A very interesting piece for the discerning collector.
