BEAUTIFULMAPPIN &WEBBWATER PICHER
Truly exceptional water pitcher produced by the world-renowned firm of Mappin & Webb of Sheffield, England, 9 inches tall, 7-1/2 inches wide, & beautifully formed with a highly decorative body, afull lipped spout, incised base, along with an ebonized wood finial & hand-carved handle. It weighs29ounces, or824 grams, & is in excellent condition with only light surface scratching, marked on the base withMappin & Webb's Prince's Plate, Rd 71553, W9096, 5. It is in really excellent condition with no losses or damage&only light surface scratching.
Mappin & Webb, founded in 1810, continued under the ownership of their descendents until 1971, producing some of the finest silverworldwide throughout the 1800's & 1900's. In 1963, they produced a high quality line of silverplate using the trade name Prince's Plate, which is quadrupled plated & known for its graet endurance & beauty.
