This really is a magnificent hand painted Tibetan wooden table highly decorated with Buddhist sacred symbols around the frieze and with the large Vajra in the centre of the top. The vajra is one of the sacred dorje, usually three dimensional bronze ritual objects, used to summon energy wisdom and protection.
Purchased on a trip to Tibet some 10 years ago I sadly no longer have room for it as it has always attracted a lot of admiration.
It had clearly been around for quite a time when I bought it and had it shipped as it had to be cleaned and the painting a little restored.
It would look magnificent in a large hallway with Buddhas or in one of the growing number of small Buddhist temples.
There are very minor knocks and scratches highlighted in the photos.
Size 136 x 86 x 70 cms
Although with purchase and shipping this cost me much more I am prepared to let it find a new loving home at the price shown.
