This is an absolutely magnificent, late 20th century, 16\" Poole Charger, by iconic artist Tony Morris. It depicts the sun setting over Poole harbour and the working quay, from the old lighthouse near Baiter, highlighted in burnt orange and red, graduating in size, on a textured mottled deep blue, pastelgreen, dark green, black, deep royal blue ground, and edged in a stunning aquamarine,accentuated with metallic silver highlights.

Its a modernist abstract depiction with regards an evening sunset, the sea and its waves.The detailed colouring of the shimmering waves and evening sky give this charger a real moody, even romantic feel, leading you to believe you\'re actually there,watchingthis sunset.

The base has a printedPoole stampinblack script with \'Poole StudioEngland\' and the dolphin.Theserial number B58 and the TM initials for Tony Morris.

It\'s in absolute fantastic original condition with no chips, scratches,fleabites orrestoration, areallyfabulous piece of Poole pottery. I\'m afraid my photos aren\'t doing thismagnificent Poole chargertruejustice, because thelight refection is hindering the exquisite visual appeal, of this spectacular vibrant charger.Whoever purchases this charger will not be disappointed, because itsexquisite artistic workmanship, is simply sublime.

As you can see from my pictures, thisstunning chargerseems to colour shift depending on room lighting conditions, which is quite striking, it looks different at certain times of the day, you never seem to get fed up of looking at it. A real fantastic design conceptfrom one the worlds bestceramic makers.

Avacancy at the Poole Pottery Studio was advertised at the Poole Employment Exchange in 1962 and details were passed to other employment exchanges throughout Britain. In South Wales the vacancy came to the attention ofTony Morris. Newly qualified from Newport School of Art and with no previous ceramic training, Tony was recruited by Robert Jefferson on the strength of his painting. The rest is history. Tony Morris is without doubt the most Iconic artist ever to have worked for Poole pottery, his pieces are collected and revered the world over !!!!
