A superb antique Japanese netsuke of a samurai, cleaning his ear, while leaning on a large basket. Made of hardwood in the Edo era and signed by the artist Otoman,who was active in Hakata around 1800. A well carved netsuke that has obtained a nice patina. No damage or restoration. 4.5cms tall.
