Superb antique Victorian c 1890 silver Scottish agate dirk kilt pin brooch:

This is a superb quality antique Victorian circa 1890 sterling silver Scottish agate and real Cairngorm citrine kilt pin or large brooch. PLEASE NOTE: The two front silver finials are well matched to the piece but not original as they would have contained two citrines similar to the top stone.
I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
The superb stones are orange jaspers from the Campsie Fells in Stirlingshire, green moss agate from Balmerino in north Fife and grey banded agate from Montrose.The top facetted stone is a lovely facetted golden citrine from the Cairngorm mountain range that have been fully tested by a local jeweller and is a genuine stone.
The brooch has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for pieces from this period but has been fully tested and is sterling silver. The length is large at 6.6 cm ( Two and two third inches ) and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original.
