Superb big Antique Victorian silver circa 1890 Scottish agate garter brooch pin:

This is a superb high quality antique Victorian period circa 1890 sterling silver Scottish agate and gemstone garter brooch. The quality is exquisite with no damage to the stones which have been beautifully selected to provide a very colourful brooch.
I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
The stones are stunning and include lovely orange and mustard jaspers from the Campsie Fells in Stirlingshire, rare purple speckled agate from Kinnef, classic green and red speckled bloodstones from the Isle of Rum and grey banded agates from Montrose.
The brooch has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for pieces from this period but has been fully tested and is sterling silver. The length is large at 5.5 cm ( Two and a fifth inches ) and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original. The brooch has it\'s original loop on the back to fit a safety chain and pin if required.
