An important, made in fantastic quality japanese bronze sculpture, Meiji period, circa 1890, Genryusai Seiya. Very fine and detailied cast of dark brown bronze. Very fine moulded and chiselled. Illustration of o beautiful young mother with child on her back. The child is playing with her mothers hair. In the right hand she hold a big hat. On the round plinthe you can see the signature of the sculpture. Height 14.5inch (37cm), weight 8,3lbs (3,8kg). The sculpture is in very good state of preservation.
