I have had other fine clocks from the Black Forest region of Germany over the years but this is certainly one of the best. A time and strike wall clock with fine carving of game, foliage, and of course, the dog on the top. Most clocks of this type were German but this is a French clock. Very high quality brass movement with a \'repeater\' movement which allows it to strike on the hour but then again just a minute later---repeating the time strike. The piece also strikes on the quarter hours with a \'bim bam\' style. Movement is completely original and we even have the original oversized key for winding. Of special note is the quality of the carvings, exceptional would not be an overstatement. In excellent condition with a smooth and even finish. As with all our clocks, this clock is currently running in our store. Overall size is 19 wide and 26 long.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
