There are Heart Shaped Rocks, Rocks with HeartOutlines, and then there are Embedded Hearts. This Heart Shaped Rockis a denseMetamorphic Rock, which means it started its current life as one type of rock and then through pressure and/or heat it has transformed into a differenttype of rock. This secondary rock is often stronger than the originalstate. If you look closely at this heart rock you will see a mottled two tone texture. Most likely heat has partially melted the original components, and then as thiscooled new crystalline patterns were formed. Kind of like Love, it changes you through heat and pressure, and you end up stronger.

This rock has been surf polished into a soft heart shape.The surface isslightly bumpy and the rock has a very fine pattern of pale gray mottled crystalline grain. The back of the rock is quite flat and the front is dimensional in a soft rounded shape.
