We were in Newport Beach watching the surf and the surfer’s on a magnificent day for surfing. That same afternoon we headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant just off the coast highway and bellied up to the bar. We both remember a huge smile on the bartender’s face and just as he welcomed us he set this huge platter of fresh vegetables, chips and guacamole in front of us. Everything about it was fabulous down to the snack tray itself. My wife loved the whimsical surfboards and the color and just raved about it. It just happened to be my wife’s birthday so we had a great evening with the patrons and the servers. As we started to leave, the bartender handed my wife this beautiful snack tray and wished her happy birthday for about the ninth time. She’s kept it over the years and now it’s time to part, hoping that someone else may fall in love. It’s big and serves a lot of chips, pretzels and dip. Make your next party a surf one.
