This is such an adorable set and I simply couldn`t bear to split the pieces!
Some wonderful petite mademoiselle must have felt so special when she danced in this ensemble.
The ensemble is a petitet tutu, a glittering tiara, timeworn silk pointe shoes and a linen flower bouquet.
The tutu has a grossgrain silk upper that is corsetted within. The back closes with hooks and eyes and carries the name MARTINE DUHAMEL. The frothy tulle skirt is 4 layers and sits beautifully.
The measurements:
Neck to hem 19\" (48.5cms)
Bust 24\" (61cms)
The tiara is delicieux, a twinkling display of faceted stones attached to a wirework headband that carries the same name. All of the stones are intact and it stands proud from the head band.
Height at front 3\" (7.5cms)
Diameter 6\" (15cms)
The pink silk pointe shoes have leather soles and carry the size 9. The pointes are solid and the silk is also all solid. They are a little timeworn as is to be expected and that simply adds to the look. The long ties are all intact.
The bouquet is made up of 7 large linen daisy type flowers each with a pale pink centre of pottery tipped stamens. There are linen leaves and a large bow made of fine stiff lawn.
