Here is a darling, antique German, bisque sockethead, cabinet-size doll just as she was manufactured over one hundred years ago for some little girl\'s Christmas stocking! Dressed in all her original clothing and probably designed as a baby doll before bent-limb baby dolls were mass produced. She wears her original white chemise and full slip beneath her white eyelet gown with pink silk ribbon detail and matching bonnet. She has beautiful, blue glass, sleep eyes, multi-stroke upper and lower eyelashes, eyebrows, a tiny open mouth with teeth and her original, soft brown human hair wig. She has a five-piece, carton-style body with nicely molded black stockings and mustard gold shoes with heels and is incised on the back of her head: Made in Germany over 201- and a size number inside her neck socket. She has no damages or hairlines, no cracks or repairs (original seam tape on the carton torso has slightly opened at the hip area) and her dress and bonnet could use washing.
