Presented here is a US Civil WarModel 1850FootOfficers Sword with Leather Scabbard.The brass guardandsharkskin gripis tight, the grip is complete, shows light wear,and thetwisted brass wire is complete, a small separation on shark skin due to age and shrinking.Theetched bladehassome age spots throughout,but it is straight with no pitting and it has not been sharpened. The blade is beautifully and intricately engraved. Ricasso is stamped with the manufactures making Ames Manufacturing Chicopee Mass. Theleather scabbardbroken in half (as is common) but it\'s a clean break and almost invisible when put together, the throat is tight, drag is tight and in great shape.Ames MFG Co. Chicopee Mass. is stamped on the throat of the scabbard. Washer is intact.

Length of the blade is30\", length of the sword is35 3/4\", and overall in the scabbard it is 37 1/4\".

On the scabbard drag is a word stamped into the brass,it appears to me \"Tenfelder\" or \"Bentfelder\"
