Description: Foreword: “This cookbook was compiled by members of the Mohegan Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution in an attempt to combine in one book favorite recipes of the members. Some of the recipes are members’ cherished family heirlooms, while others can be found from favorite cookbooks. Several recipes date back to the times of our founding fathers but have been modified by using ingredients which can be easily found today.” Individual contributors and their patriotic ancestor are named with most of the recipes.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a national organization that was formed in 1890 that is dedicated to service to the nation. Their objectives are historic preservation, especially to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence, promotion of education and patriotic endeavor. The Mohegan Chapter was organized on May 28, 1894.
