- OBJECT FOR SALE:An original 1964 ‘New Beat’ Ringo Starr snare drum manufactured by Selcol UK. The red and burgundy drum features Ringo’s face, hands holding a drumstick, and his autograph printed on the drum skin. The original Beatles sticker and Selcol sticker are undamaged and intact and positioned to the circular edge. Likewise, the \'New Beat\' silver logo to the side remains undamaged. It measures 35cm diameter x 17cm depth (14 inches x 7 inches). The drum comes in the original box with large front sticker intact, though a little torn, and is accompanied by the original set of support legs and the two original drumsticks. The support legs are red-painted wood, with undamaged white plastic stand caps, and measure 61cm in length (24 inches). The drum is complete and solid. The skins are tight on the top and bottom. The wire springs and tight and intact. Acceptable bang marks. The condition is very good plus/near excellent with the usual minor scuffs and played markings, but no major wear and certainly no holes or tears: the Ringo caricature and facsimile signature are clear and unbroken. The box shows considerable age wear, but is mostly complete with only small sections missing, including the carrying handle. Still retains the inner round part and tray for the drum. The condition is very good minus. The original Selcol drum manual is in great condition and is rarely included with the set. One of the nicest overall sets we have had.
