The Book Of The Flower Fairies-by Cicely M. Barker-fairy-angels-cherubs For Sale
This book is an early edition of "The Book of the Flower Fairies", by Cicely M. Barker. There is no year of printing present, but this is definitely an early edition, and i would say circa 1945. It is bound in green cloth hardback binding, with gilt decoration and lettering to front board and spine. It contains74 full page colour plates, which is all of the flower fairies, and of the spring, summer, autumn and winter. Printed and publishedin Great Britain by Blackie and Son, Ltd., Glasgow. With dimensions to the book of 7.5" x 6" x0.9" thick, and it weighs430g unpacked.
The condition is good,particularly the contents, which are very clean and bright throughout with no foxing, marking, loss or damage to pages or plates., and the text block is firm and secure with no missing, detached or loose pages. There is an ink inscription to the top right corner of first free endopaper (see pics).The binding is still bright, prominent and unfaded, and both boards are firmly attached with no splitting or weakness to inner or outer hinges. There is slight wear to corners and extremities, and a few small white marks to front cover (see pics), but generally this book is in good order as the pictures provided show.
