Forsaleis a hard to find pen brushdesk set itemmade by Tiffany Studios of New York. Thepen brushis done in the \"Pine Needle\" desk set pattern. The patina on the metal is the most sought after red-green brown. The stained glassis the green white favrile opalescent. The pen brush wipe stands2 1/16\" tall to the top of the brush and it is2 3/16\" in diameter. It is 1 1/2\" tall without the brush. The pen brushdisplays an acid etched Pine Needle overlay pattern on green white opalescent glass. The item is circular or cylindricalin shape and has 2 curved or slumped glass green white panes that are soldered together under the overlay.This the one of the hardest to find pieces without damage when collecting desk set items. These items were used and often knocked on the floor and broken. This one is in amazing condition.The patina is outstanding and is commensurate with normal age wear!The pen brushstill retains itsbrush to wipe of the ink from a pen. I believe this one saw minimal use because of the condition of it. The pen brushis considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, or chips to any of the glass.The pen brush is signed on the bottom with the \"Tiffany Stvdios New York\" impressed mark along with the pattern number \"981\" impressed just underneath.

Tiffany Started using a 3 digit numbering system after 1902.Since this has a 3 digit number and the \"u\" in Studios is spelled with a \"v\" denotes this as an earlier piece. This pen wipe was made circa 1902-1907. Those of you who are looking for an excellent example of thispen wipein the Pine Needle pattern with red/green/brown patina will be delighted with their purchase.
