DESCRIPTION – Early 20th c.Tiffany Studios desk top box in the Pine Needle pattern. The box is bronze with a gold or dore finish and caramel slag glass. It has a wood (mahogany) lining on the lid and a removable insert. Intended as a smoking/cigarette box it could have a variety of uses with the wood adding protection for the glass inserts. A substantial box in a very useable size weighing approximately 2lb.
CONDITION – Very nice original condition with expected wear and signs of use. There is a minor ding/dent on the front edge of the lid and a spot on the vertical border (near the ding) where it is very slightly raised/bent. There is also an extremely slight bend in the main \"needle burst\" on the back pine needle panel. All are very minor and can be seen in the enlargedphotos (main and back panel). No breaks or cracks in the glass, no repairs and the hinge is fine and working smoothly. There is soiling, most notably on the top glass. Wood is mildly aromatic but does not smell like cigarettes. Could be lightly polished/cleanedif desired.Please enlarge and view all photos as part of the description.
