Up for sale is a wonderful tin tole painted miniature box in black asphaltum base paint with painted rooster (peacock?) on front in blue, white, red, and yellow, a stylized tulip with green vine and leaves with white scrolled design under, a red line border and a yellow wavy line around perimeter of all other sides. It is painted red inside. The hinged lid has become detached but the lid stays in place without being fastened to the base. This would be a simple soldering job. Otherwise, it is in very good condition condition with little wear, ca. 1830-1850. Not a common painted design.
