one of the rarely seen,earlier tipp & co motorcycles....it doesn\'t turn up too often.TINPLATE MOTORRAD.....dates from around 1930 in Germany.
nearly 8 inches length.
really attractive colour scheme ,with period dressed rider sat on his blue motorcycle...very snazzy outfit!
quality german litho printing.
old bike clearly shows areas of surface oxide/spotting,corrosion...more so to the riders upper left side....chips,scuffs,scratches....rear left-side mudguard support has cracked/detached at top edge(SHOWN IN IMAGE...but not affecting,as still pressed tight to mudguard)...surface oxidation/tarnish to exposed inner bare metal of bike,base plate,mechanism etc...
motorcyclist still has his original arms...handlebars & headlight.(these often get lost/replaced with repros)...bike & rider have retained some very nice original colours/finish.....this model is notorious for severe colour fade,especially the orange & yellow rider\'s attire....old bike has no repainting or touch-in to the litho.
original dunlop cord spoke wheels.
the small base plate assembly may possibly be from another 30\'s period german bike?...traces of black paint finish/underside tab slots slightly larger?
the mechanism will still carefully wind-up...it will spin the rear wheel when held aloft......on surface the small base plate wheels want some adjusting/lubing to turn freely....rear wheels spins at present with some wheel spin/slipping on surface...so bike moves,but not too smoothly.
