PLAYFUL SCULPTURE

Atoni people have a tradition of statuary. The most famous are the Aitos - devotional statues but there has always been a wealth of smaller sculpture, amulets and charms performing a variety of functions - educational tools, a memorial to a deceased ancestor and toys for kids. This commemorative statuette is depicted wearing a crescent shaped headdress and holding a betel box. The artifact is in excellent condition.

I am happy to combine sales that end at different times for shipping discounts. If you are offerding on multiple items, please wait until all of the items for the day are finished as combined shipping invoices have to be adjusted manually.

After a six month absence from I am back to listing a combination ofweekly and OBO (or best offer) saleformats for at least 3 - 4 months and possibly a little longer.
The majority of the items I am offering were collected, in situ, between 1989 - 1999. Even thesimplest artifact offered is completely individual, authentic and relevant.

I can no longer insure small packet air shipments through Canada Post. A new service called \"tracked packet\" has been introduced at a much higher rate. The most economical solution is a combination of small packet air and third party insurance. I am now using Insurepost and the countries that they will not cover can be serviced by Xpresspost or tracked packet.

*Small packet air service is no longer available for Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines, Russian Federation, Slovenia or Mexico.
