She is a limited edition doll, closed edition, # 74 / 400
A very special technique of cloth over porcelain style doll. This technique of molding one medium over another involves taking a dyed interlocking, cotton knit fabric and stretching and smoothing it over the original porcelain sculpt, taking care there are no bubbles, pockets of creases. The striations in the fabric give the appearance of human skin, which softens the look of the doll so it has more realistic appearance. Jilly has a cloth over porcelain head, neck and breastplate, and a stuffed cloth body including her hands and feet. She is full articulated, poseable and has joints at the soulders and hips. Her face is painted and she has short , shoulder length blonde synthetic mohair. She is wearing a fabric dress with teddy bear print and buttons, bloomers. Comes with a metal doll stand.She is 27 inches tall. Created in 1998 by Tawny Nix, \" to bring back those magical days of childhood in all of us\".
She is in very clean good condition, in her original box with her hang tag. Box has some shelf wear, doll is in excellent clean condition. Marked on the back of her neck by the Artist and edition #.
