Economical recipes designed to meet the needs of the modern housekeeper including chapters on entertaining, paper-bag cookery, casserole cookery, fireless cookery, chafing-dish cookery, meat substitutes. Salesman\'s Sample, designed for selling memberships in the International Institute, Department of Domestic Science. This book has sample pages from many of the chapters, sample of the index page. Inserted pages in the back for membership in the International Institute, Department of Domestic Science, Philadelphia, PA. Also sample questions from members of the Institute (I am planning on an eight person dinner party, what is effective, inexpensive.....). Also testimonials from Institute members. For a $2.00 membership fee, one received the cook book \"free of charge\" and a one-year membership that provided a consulting service to answer any domestic questions one might have. Members were encouraged to form neighborhood \"domestic science clubs.\" Four page ad in back for E.A. Merriam Bible. VG condition. Cover wear, slight cover damage. Very slight foxing on first few pages, otherwise pages are tight and clean. I use a poor/fair/good/very good/excellent/mint grading system and grade very conservatively (see my response). This does NOT necessarily correspond to the generic grading system that we are forced to use. Shipping is $2.95 in the U.S.
