The icon of the Virgin is painted having as model icon of the 18th century , while the background is gilt by gold leaf 22 karats , the gold in the icon is the symbol of heaven. The technique painting is the traditional egg-tempera on wood, the pigments are true pigments such as lapis lazuli blue or malachite green ecc. Also as pigment color has been used gold in powder.
The panel is composed by cypress wood and the icon has certificate of authenticity signed and stamped by the icon painter.
